HUNTERS CHAMPION LABRADORS

Next, we believe even the best genetics will not ensure you a great dog. With that said we also feel the apple does not fall far from the tree. We have learned how a puppy is handled by the breeder for the first 7 or 8 weeks of their life,  and what the puppies are exposed to has a direct effect on their temperament. This also affects confidence in  how the puppy  will learn and accept training. All of our puppies are whelped in our home where we spend countless hours incorporating a head start program that has been extremely effective in raising puppies eager to learn with good attention spans and great temperaments. This allows them the opportunity to reach their full potential. Whether that is a field trial dog, hunting dog, or a great family dog, that is easily trained and loves to learn. Most of all a puppy that will find his reward in pleasing his family, Given the opportunity we know you will love your new puppy from Hunters Kennels.

OUR BREEDING PHILOSOPHY

Having trained Labrador Retrievers for over 30 years for hunting, you will find there are many different feelings on what they should look like, and how they should perform at home and in the field. With that being said, We believe many people love the versatility and general characteristics that Labrador Retrievers offer; making them the most popular breed of dogs in the United States. Would this dog be as popular, and have all the attributes the Labrador Retriever's have today if we only bred for just one trait: say show, or maybe only for field trials? We believe not. We feel you need a balance of traits from the best Labrador Retrievers in the world. We have learned  how  to keep our lines of Hunting Labrador retrievers at a National Level in both hunting and retrieving. I have learned in the past you can not count on what other people say. You need to spend the time every year competing in Upland hunting competitions, AKC Field Trials, and Hunt Tests and checking out hunt clubs. Then you can see the best dogs in the country in action, talk to top trainers, breeders, and  handlers. By doing this it gives us the knowledge of the best stud dogs available, and throwing the traits we need to keep our line of Labrador Retrievers competing at a national level.
